Managed to damage the wing of my 300zx on Private property the other day. I have been told by several body shop places that they cannot pull the dents out as the wing has a crease in it. Both body shop places have told me that it is likely to cost around £2000 as it requires a new back wing to be re-welded and sprayed..

I have accidental cover and NCB protection.

I presume I should have no problems claiming on this????

Are you fully comp? I presume most people are due to the value of the cars. If so then I think you can claim. However, even if you don't lose your NCB, you will probably still see your premium go up next time.

Insurance=legalised extortion

or should that be legally required extortion ?

protected NCB generally has a few "clauses" attached, along the lines of..

"protected if you renew with us" but theres always an excuse for an increase... costs, inflation, etc frown.gif

"protected for claims up to £x in value"

"protected for 1 claim in 2 years"

and all other kinds of "small print"

check out your own policy small print

I will check my information, but it seems to say I can claim once per year upto a max of 3 in 2 years. and they will pay upto 60% of the value of the car for accidental damage.

I think it will go up massivly next year so I am probably going to sell the ZX in 1 year...

Oh no..
