Noises from under my car!

Ummmmmmmmmm, this my second Z and both have had similar sounds coming out from under. Really only noticable when the car is standing still and running next to a wall or in a tunnel - so that the sound is coming back at me! Sounds like a tinkly/rattling. doesant seem to change with engine or road speed. Not sure if it goes away when moving!

Sounds like it comes from the middle of the underneath of the car. Any heads up appreciated.

Could be two or three things - or a mixture of both.

That area is very near the center section of the exhuast - it corrodes to hell - especially on a Stock pipe.

There is also a Large ish Flimsy heat shield in that area the bolts sheer very easily and mine only had 2 !!! holding it on - check that also.

The area is also where the 2 peice Drive shaft is connected with a Bearing - these wear and tend to produce produce vibrations at certain speeds this could mean something is rubbing when the shaft has play in it.

Hope that helps

On the 200sx, the gearbox mainshaft bearing fails and causes a rattling sound, sounds like loads of nuts and bolts rattling around inside your gearbox.

Not a cheap fix on the 200sx, so I hope it isn't the problem on yours.
