Wrong.

 

White reduces heat absorption and also reduces heat radiation!

Black increases heat absorption and also increases heat radiation!

 

To improve cooling you should use black because the temperature under the bonnet is usually higher that the outside temperature.

 

If the outside temperature is higher than the temperature under the bonnet you should use white to reduce the absorption.
