Arse!

The news I had been dreading, got told due to headcount and cost cutting my contract wasn't being renewed from Friday :(

Nice handshake after two years, 4 days notice!

Nevermind, the management were assholes so wherever I go even with less money it's got to be better! :D

Onwards and upwards :D

Only trouble is, I don't know how I'm going to afford my serious petrol habit now!

;)

*Anyone in Bristol need an unemployed IT dude?*

:p

Chher mate,

Good luck to you too :)

These car's aren't ideal to run if you have no income!

sorry to hear that you've lost your job. But if it was that bad you might be better of. I can't stand my boss, and she drives me potty, some times I wish I earned half as much doing some meanless job. with out any headaches.

best of luck.

Tony

I wish.

I was a contractor so I don't even have any rights :(

Luckily there's some holiday owed to me.

Sorry to hear about it. Its never a good time, but people who are made redundent often go on to a better paid job. People dont look out for better jobs when they are working, because there is no need, but really you should be looking all the time.

Any ways. Things will get better.

Stuart

 Well good luck mate hope you find another job soon at least you still got the zed to keep ya smilling:D :D

Yeah a new trade isn't a bad idea, it's just survivng on the money until you're qualified.

Plumbers/Carpenters/Sparkies etc earn shit loads, but you don't get there in four days.

Still nothing stopping me going to college whilst working I suppose :)

Four days notice sucks, that just shows the type of firm you worked for, hope you get sorted with something soon

Thanks Gavo :)

Christ Eric,

Just saw your thread, I'm really gutted for you M8.:(

Still has been said earlier hopefully something else will turn up soon.

Best of luck,

F.T.

Cheers Tony :)

Still as someone said at least I have the Zed to smile about, and I can still see her sat outside :D

Sorry to hear about this Eric, same thing happened to me last October after three and a half years of rolling on a three monther.

I'm still looking! IT industry is on its knees at the moment and the war isn't helping.

Chin up!!! ;)

Sorry to hear about your work - Eric. Hope somethign comes up soon. Hang in there mate.

In 1996 I changed career and became a self-employed landscape gardener. The advantage not being employed by some w**kers.

Best of luck Eric.

Geoff.

Sorry to hear that mate, it's not a nice feeling being laid off & I do sympathise.

Same crap happened to me back in 1991. Local Electronics company made me redundant 1 day before I'd served 2 years so that they didn't have to pay out any redundancy, bar stewards

I'm sure you'll get sorted out with another job soon.:)

Eric,

Sorry to hear you news, matey, it's pretty shite out there in IT-land at the moment, although ironically I have had to take on 5 new contractors in the last few months, albeit to work on a short-term integration project, which when finished means we'll be redundant!

Stick with it, though, once we get past the war etc, and things settle down, hopefully companys will start to take a few more entrepreunerial risks again, and some of the good times will be back ....

Can't stand all this looking at the bottom line all the time .. it sucks!!!!!
