I know there are not very many Americans on this board. Even less that are in the U.S. Military. I am one of those in the U.S. Military and I just want to say THANKS! I truely appreciate the efforts the UK has made to support us. Those Soldiers and Marines from the UK that have parrished in the last few days are truely honorable men. If you agree with the war or not just remember those are your people giving their lives for OUR countries. Thank You!

Yeah Mike - all our thoughts and prayers are with you lot - at the end of the day you are the guys who have to do the job.

Geoff.

Likewise Mike - I respect all of the coalition servicemen who are risking their lives for us over there !

I pray that we get all the POW's back before they're harmed any more, and that no more are taken !

Thank YOU !

Well said - u r welcome (although that should really come from UK troops not me). The difference between how the US/UK troops and Iraqi troops treat prisoners of war says a lot to me about why we are fighting this war.

I believe the intransigence of the Iraqi soldiers should be met with more "Shock & Awe", ie. obliterate the fookers with bombs. Otherwise the US/UK troops are likely to lose many good men.

Teach these primitive people a lesson.

Good luck to all US/UK troops - there is more support here for the military action than the protesters would have you believe. ;)

I agree !

If there were to be a pro-war march I think the numbers would put the anti-war numbers in their true perpective ! ;)

I'm not sure this is fair - the regime itself is the problem, not the majority of the Iraqi people or soldiers.

And, even in primitive times, survival of the tribe was a basic instinct. I don't think Saddam's actions show much respect for his 'tribe'. I think that primitive as giving him too much credit.

Call me racist if you like, but all I've seen/heard of Middle East people leads me to the conclusion that they are (in general) not as clever/advanced or ethical as Westerners. Maybe it's the religious brain-washing which goes on, maybe it's the cultural differences, but in spite of all the oil they have, how come they are mostly like a 3rd world country ?

Surely if they were clever, they would just surrender ?

We also don't go round calling them 'infidels' and wishing them dead just because they have a different religion/culture.

So you done some extensive research there then!

Thats a nice palace Mr Saddam! Wow! How much have you spent on arms??

So the Crusades was just a fact finding misson then.

Haven't seen much tv footage of the crusades !

Was that recent then ? ;)

Must have missed it ! :D

Where are the Knights Templar when you need them ?

No, but they were centuries ago. We're talking about NOW. Things have moved on - at least in the West they have. No way would westerners put up and defend a tyrant like Saddam.

I don't think it would add anything to what you've said and I don't like name calling.

:p

Ok ok ok, going off topic on a thread doesn't usually bother me BUT I think the nature of this one says we should stop the bickering ;)
