I have heard the streaming is the best way. I have also heard than some Z's came out with electrical problems. But could this just be because they had eroding wires.

Any suggestions?

Stu, worst thing on these cars, as is the same with any turbo car, is the heat generated under the bonnet. Wiring really suffers over the years and this can cause all sorts of gremliny type problems. Dirt in one form or another also plays havoc. Throttle bodies are usually the best place to start and can make a lot of difference when cleaned up! Check out TT.net for procedure etc.

Wiring looms in the engine bay are not well insulated from heat soak so wires become brittle and shite at doing what they are supposed to do.

I'm having my loom replaced while my engine is out, or should I say when the engine goes back in! That way I should be able to eliminate the loom/harness whatever you want to call it, from causing problems in the future.

Sensors are a plenty, cleaning or replacing is usually best! Obviously cleaning contacts up first is the preferred method.

I've heard several cases of steam cleaning causing probs on tt.net, but not always. I started cleaning mine with plain old wd40 and a rag... it's hard work, but works...

If you do anything that envolves pouring water in etc, heat the engine up first to expand those gaskets and dry everything out as you go...
