There are kits to convert the Z to a single turbo or supercharger, but its a lot of time and effort.

Stuart

150CFM seems low to me. My bro's Dodge Challenger uses 600 (ish) CFM carbs, and thats to produce about the same HP as the 300ZX (much more when he's finished playing with it, he tells me!)

Of course, I wait standing to be corrected....

you would need a hell of a lot more than two of them for a 300zx:rolleyes:

they are rubbish and are not like superchargers from the likes of jackson racing ;)

oh so not idea to buy them

ages ago i saw a guide on how to convert your NA to a TT

Anyone else see thisn guide and know where it is

i believe luke at the Zcentre might have a twin turbo engine for sale pretty soon;)

So how easy is it to change over? from a NA to a TT

im not sure i have a garage doing it for me but they are also rebuilding the TT engine and doing lots of other stuff too so im not sure on an exact amount the only price i have is under 10k:rolleyes:

urm well out of my price range

I think i will just get air filter, exhaust and nos!

Cost less than 1500

you might be able to get a TT engine fitted for less than £1500 mine is so dear cause im looking for big power and will be using a 6 speed box too

someone let me knopw if they know anyone who can fit one it!

why don't you just get rid of the car buy a TT it would be a lot easer :D

Wow - there aren't many of those in the UK !!!! I know someone in St Albans who has/had one.

Well i will keep my eyes open for a uk one

so the final verdict on the supercharger is NO

You may want to contact TopLess. Mark is converting his N/A Converable to a TT.

Geoff

thanks

That blower on ebay consumes less than 36W that means it blows less hard than your heater motor. Its a joke. 2.7amps.

Any conversions to an NA will always be limited by the high compression ratio of the NA. If you go to the bother of new low compression pistons to get full output then you might as well get a TT engine anyway.

There is a company working on a very high speed electric motor that could drive the compressor side of a normal turbo but I think it is still some way from commercialising it. It would need a bunch of electronics linked to the ecu to variable speed the motor in line with engine demand / throttle position rpm etc. That motor would probably consume a couple of kilowatts or 160 amps so you would also need a good battery and alternator to keep the juice up. Then with an NA zed you have to find somewhere to put it with the intake and pipe mods as well. and you'd still need low compression pistons for TT type power. imho

I think i will just get nos, maybe 75 bhp wet kit

Andy,

He (Phil) lives in Billericay - expect to see him cruising around Essex this summer with about 450-500 bhp (its a red one). And running North Weald/Santa-Pod. At the moment the engine is in pieces in his garage, with many modded parts to go on - you can virtually strip these motors in the engine bay - just as well, they're quite heavy!. Winter is definitely tinkering time - he can't get any traction on the road anyway!!!

He probably knows the person in St Albans - they're really a tight group (he got his from Newcastle!)

If any of you are in the working area then look out for my mates white (pearl) colour 300zx running 420bhp plus 100bhp of NOS. he also cant get any grip on the road!

oops woking, guildford or even basingstoke!
