Taking the police car thread a bit further I found myself been paced by an unmarked Volvo T5 down the M42 some years ago the guy looked everybit

bsiness man well I took the apparent challenge and off we went I was then driving a well modded Sierra Cosworth and after some 5 or six miles of 120 + a break in the traffic came and off I went 150 ish left him well back, slowed by some traffic he was back, got off at my junction and then saw the dreaded radio! he followed made an instant decision to stop just of the junction. The guy flew out of his car and shouted and raved, meanwhile a fully marked T5 came and he spoke to them for 10 seconds or so and they left by now I am thinking when I get out I will have to use buses, unbelievable evemn though he paced me for some 15 miles he let me off!!! seems he had just picked up the car and could`nt work out how to use the video wow big relief didnt even get a producer? I was happy to get off but well pissed that he really instigated a race and continued it.Next day as I left the M6 a Coleshill a fully police marked Imprezz WRX Pro sport buzzed me down a duel carriage way and blasted off at well high speed could see his big grin too! Well that was it I thoughtso followed him into the police station at Coleshill and spoke to the desk sergant to ask him why exactly its one rule for one etc he laughed and said there only having a bit of fun? so lads if you find yourself been stopped for speeding just say its ok officer I was just having a bit of fun see how far it gets you

traffic police do not help the situation some times! Jeff TT

PS I still think I was a jammie git

Grrrrrrr, I can feel my blood pressure rising.

I am not a legal expert by any means. But I do know about entrapment.

It seems an accepted method of policing in the United States. The police can and do encourage crime to catch [so called] criminals.

Here things are slightly different, as far as I am aware (and that aint much) an undercover officer can approach a drug dealer and buy drugs, then use this as evidence to secure conviction.

What the police may not do is leave a lorry load of electrical goods parked in Oxford Street with the back doors open, then nick everyone who steals from it.

But they can and do entice drivers of high performance cars into breaking speed limits.(we all know this, even those of us with crap cars smile.gif )

Wonder why no one respects em eh??

On a lighter note, remember reading Clarkson in Top Gear Mag regailing about testing a new Escort Cossie in Italy, tanking down an autostrada when a furgone della polizia pulls alongside. Clarksons' like, feck it Im in trouble, but no... the side of the police van opens up revealing 3 smiling ufficiali di polizia waving old Clarkson on "velocità

velocità!!!" .. yep these Iti'z just wanted to see what the cossie could do...

Like to think its a true story LOL smile.gif

Glen.

Good effort, Jeremy is my all time hero! REZPECT to the Claxxon!!!

Yeah, it is entrapment, they are right bastards for that sort of thing. When my Bro(younger than me) and me were working for a double glazing firm(who hasn't?), we used to have to go door knocking for appointments.

Anyway, I couldn't drive at this point, so my Bro had to take us all out in the company car, dodgey red sierra! Anyway, hutling up some dual carriageway in Kent towards Faversham or Chatham...somewhere like that, and there's this white escort van in the right hand lane just sitting there. Even though there was no traffic on the left hander for miles.

So my Bro sits behind him for what seemed like an eternity and then he gets frustrated as you do! He flashes the van but still the van won't budge. So my young wipper snapper of a Brother undertakes him, straight away the blue lights go on in the front grille and it's a copper. Flashing his headlights and pulls my Brother over and gives him a load of shite about undertaking and what right did my boy have to flash him!

Wanker!

Flashing your headlights means "look, I am here! I am letting you know so that you can see me", it doesn't translate to anything else. I know coz I just did my written test for my bike test so am well clued up on the HC at the moment. Also, the copper should have pulled over as the outside lane is for overtaking manouevers only!

ENTRAPMENT, ENTRAPMENT, ENTRAPMENT!
