Hi guys,

just to let you all know that over the weekend i was happily driving home when some a$$hole decided he could jump the red lights. he managed to do that but i took half his front end off in the process. The police dont know who's fault it is and he says its my fault, i say its his........ so were going to court, which will probably take about 5 months over here!!

My car is fairly damaged but his is worst. Mine has:-

Bumper - smashed into 1001 bits

Headlights - no longer have any

Crossmember - completely twisted

Radiator - squashed into the engine

Wings - creased out looking like a bad boy wide arch

Bonnet - looks like a pyramid

Anyways, i will get some pics if i can and stick them up.

As it happens though there is a 92 Pearl White Auto NA for sale, and im thinking of getting that. Its not the same as my Manual TT is it but its newer and looks nice.

See ya

Wow!

Sorry to hear that. Where there any witnesses who could voutch that you went through a green light?

Stuart

Naw, there was one guy behind me, after i made sure we were ok i went up to him and asked if he say it and he put his window up and drove off.

He was probably pissed or something though and didn't want any problems.......ba$tard

....are you sure you didn't have a 'friend' following you?

What's the situation like out there regarding traffic accidents/insurance pay-outs?

Naw, there was no one around apart from the guy behind me.

Plus i dont fancy the risk of telling the old bill porkies, especially over here.

Traffic cops over here are reasonable but we cant forget that he was o local and i'm an english living and working over here.

He has "fully comp" and i only have "third party only". So i was thinking if it is going to take ages in the court, i wil offer to pay for his insurance excess and make him tell the truth, bt i dont know what he would say, at the same time he could say that i tried to bribe him. And why would i do that if i i was in the right.

It going to be tough....

Gutted for you mate. Hope you've got the Arab equivalent of AndyZ over there so you can get some repair bits. Mind you, I reckon there will soon be LOTS of scrapped motors out that way!

Best of luck.

LOL..... I think we are just about far enough away from Iraq for any of our motors to get facked...

We have a few guys that you could compare to AndyZ but i doubt as good. I tend to use the guys from the Bahrain Rally Team, there know there stuff about motors and performance and have ALL the contacts anybody could ever need.

Over it works on families, the police, government, everybody big is related somehow. that means loads of twisted high powered people around. But it make getting hold of things that little bit easier....

Cheers

Im SURE someone you know, but who is not directly related to you, must of been about, why dont you ask some of your friends there, there must be someone who saw it.

If I had an accidentin my car, id make sure a "friend" of mine came forward as a "witness", if you know what I mean!!!

Sorry about your accident m8. I hope you'll win the case without underhanded tactics.

However, a good point to consider is that in a scenario like yours it is more likely that it was caused by someone jumping a red light ie the light "was" still red as oppose to the light had just turned to green. If you was stationary, waited for it to turn green and then moved on green that may be an advantage to you in court. Hoe this helps.

Sorry to hear about your accident.:(

If it's anything like Dubai, then if he's a local and your not then it's your fault!!

Just as long as you weren't hurt, it looks like your wallet will take a bashing though!

Hope it all works out OK.

Cheers,

F.T.

Sorry to hear about your accident - real lousy stuff - wish you luck in sorting it all out.

Geoff.

Cheers for all the advice and stuff.

And yes F.T. its just the same as Dubai, only less developed for the western world and therefore harder to prove your innocent in situations like this.

Well, either way, i should be getting the Pearl White NA some time this week so at least i will have another "new" Z to be modifying and playing in.... :-)

Cheers
