I want to put a XVID film onto a DVD so I can watch it on a DVD player, but when I create the DVD the sound is out of sync and gets worse through out the film, untill the soundtrack for the film ends and I have the last 10 mins of the film in silence.

Does any one know any good programs to convert DIVX and XVID films to MPG first?

I have used a couple, The first being AVI2MPG, this will convert your divx(avi) into an mpg1/2.

the other is Nero burning ROM 5.5 or later, if you tell it to create a new video CD and then drag a DivX file into the window it will perform a conversion before burning to disk.

You must however be aware that that because the divx is a much smaller file size than either mpg1 or 2, then you will loose a lot of quality.

If you can find a method that doesnt loose so much quality then please let me know..

Hope this helps you.
