No it is law!

Mass produced Japanese cars can not be more than 280PS, which is just over 280bhp. The Skyline Nismo 400 gets a way with it becuase its not a mass produced car, and I believe the Mitsubishi Evo 5 Extreme produces over 350bhp, because its not a mass produced car, or is tuned outside of the country. I think it has to be under 500 cars to not be classed as mass produced.

Gosh! That's an intelligent reply!

...and just so you didn't miss it he posted it twice :D

well hes right, its not LAW, its an agreement that has been put forward by the Vehicle manufacturers in Japan and they put a ceiling of 280ps. Next year they are dropping the policy so its no longer valid. But they say 280ps and the cars are defo putting out more than that in stock form.

I don't doubt that a lot of you all know a lot about the 300ZX. I don't know that much about it, which is why I joined this group. If I don't know about something then I normally try to learn about it. However, this 280PS agreement is something I do know about. My partner in business has lived in Tokyo for 20+ years and was one of a group of 3 or 4 that 1st started exporting into Britain Japanese imports. I have been involved in importing for 5 years and what I don't know I have learned. I don't just sit at my desk and argue a point if I am not confident that I am right. (It seems a lot of you lot do!).

If you would like a quality import, 300ZX or any other car talk to me, if you just want to argue and put forward false comments then politely piss off.

I have finished now;)

Now that wasn't that difficult was it?

As for 'flogging' your wares on here, I suggest you pay up your £20 to become a full member of this group or keep quiet, or as you put it 'politely piss off'!

I was told by someone who professed to be as knowledgeable as you re the 280bhp issue. I stand corrected.

Tim

Cheers 'TT Tim'.

Consider me (in a few moments) a paid up member.

You cant beat a good discussion to pass the time at work!!:)
