Abit of update from a nite sprint.. lost to a 2.2 mod up S14, lost to a RX7 Infini at 200m sprint by half a car length.. beat him on a 400 tho.. beat a 2.2 mod up turbo charged accord hands down..

Anyway.. I was doing 250km/h (dunno in miles) on a highway, HICAS light came on, had a hard brake when road narrowed into a corner which I dropped gear to 4 then to 3.. RPM needle went to 0 and engine dies on me.. and couldn't start after that..

After much unsucessful cranking, my '92 manual TT was towed back to Singapore..

2day my mechanic told me that Ignition coil is dead.. n he couldn't find a replacement.. Ordering from Nissan Singapore I gotta wait 2 months...:(

any advise or condolenses now will be great..:(

Order it from Courtesy parts mate, you'll get it a lot quicker.

 

At first I thought your mechanic was saying the HICAS light means the ignition coil had gone LOL.

dont you mean coils as in 6 coils or are you talkin about the ignition box one the front cover? Another thing to think about is the cam angle sensor I know that the RB motors have a small problem with that.

That's the power transistor isn't it???

PTU sounds right, this could cause those problems.

I can supply you the part immediately. If you mean the ignition coil then I can sell you one for £20 and if you mean the ignition amplifier (on the cambelt cover) then you're looking at £90.

Thanks guys.. Thanks Andy, really appreciate that.. what my mec told me is the Ignition Unit that is gone ... The part number for the ignition unit is 22020 58S11 anyone has any idea where to get it or how much would a used or brand new one cost..

Tonite I'm running my Zed on 5 cylinders to home(so i guess only one coil down..??).. luckily home is only 6km away...
