Yeah - bummer. At least they're be showing some of those old battles with Kenny Roberts again.

First I've heard about it... :(

Shame...he was a top biker... :(

I remember going to see him and Kenny fight it out at Donnington Park, that guy could ride make no mistake,a sad loss:(

:( Yeah I was choked to hear of his death this morning as only last year when he announced that he had cancer he said "this thing wont beat me"

I like many others used to go and watch him in the Transatlantic Series and he always put on a brilliant show against the Yanks.

Even though he moved to Aus,we still watched him play in the Classic Series still having fun.He was an icon to many including me!

He raced in one of the classic things (Glorious Goodwood?) on an old Manx Norton or Trimuph and won then too. He was just messing with them until the last lap and went from about 4th to 1st !

And I think Kenny Roberts was there that time too.

He was a hell of a bloke. Not only was he at the top of his field, he was a genuine person who did not let the spotlight turn him into a twat.

I met him once years ago, when I was a nipper. He was staying in the same hotel as we were, and he was on a personal break with his missus - Stephanie. He not only greated me and had a chat in the bar, he also sent Stephanie up to their room to get one of his promotional photos, which he then signed for me.

Can't think of many other 'super-stars' who would give the time of day to a snot nosed kid of a fan, when they are on holiday.

I have also had some similar surgery. Just wish I could afford to bugger off to Oz:D

Top bloke, sadly missed.:(

It makes you think when all the physical punishment this guy took and he still kept getting back on again to fight again.Certain iconic figures in sport nowadays, give up for seemingly far less significant reasons. However after offing at Donnington last year it made me think about how much these guys have to endure and for him to be taken this way is never fair.

I know this is may all be a bit deep but it just goes to show that you need to make the most of life in whatever you do,be it hobbies or work, just enjoy--

Phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww sorry

Yeah icant fooking belive it i only had my photp taken with him in september im well gutted he was one of the greatest racers of all time

Recpect to all his friends and family

R.I.P Barry

Marc:( :(

Yeah I agree with all these sentiments and would like to add my own.

Cancer is a disease that is not bound by culture, class, income, status or strength and it robs us of too many :(

The sooner we quit pouring billions into weapons and re-divert those billions into some sort of cancer prevention (or some sort of cure) the better.

[rest in] Peace to all touched by it.

First Adam Faith, now Barry, they say things like this happen in 3's so wonder who is next??

Sad news indeed and a belting bloke from what I've seen of him. Nice to see the old footage of him on the bike.

Nick

:(

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Motorcycles come & motorcycles go,

some you stuff & some you let go,

extreme fun when your on the edge,

scuffing up tarmac from curb to hedge,

knee down teeth a grit - is it a third wheel,

or is it just God letting you know you feel,

perhaps the wonder of the life you lead-

or just a man needing the will for speed........ :(

Another pier taken from us.

As i've been riding since 9 .......sad day.

respect the 7

Senna.....respect.

Couldn't be put any better.
