FAO: Bristol Zeds: Where's the best place to get Zed serviced?

When I pick up the ZX, I want an oil change and service done before I put too many abusive miles on it.

Where do you Bristol owners take your cars for a service?

I would ideally like someone who is familier with Z32s because I want someone to give it a general health check so I know what to start saving for in the next few weeks ;)

Thanks in advance

I'm not totally crap at DIY, but I'm not all that good either ;)

Eric,

There is no one in Bristol that I know of that I would trust with my Z.

I have heard it time and time again, "300's are not a problem", or "I know someone who can work on your car". They just end up shagging your car up even more.

My Z needs some work done on it and I am going to drive it up to Grasshopper. I would rather waste a day taking the car to Johnny and Latz than let the monkeys down here play with things they have no idea about.

If somebody can recommend someone down this way then I would also be interested to hear of them, but to be honest I have posted this message before and I am sure the response will be roughly the same.

Take it easy.

Where's Grasshopper?

I use my local garage- Motormend, charlton rd. KW to do basic stuff. Have done last two services on mine Ok, incl. Plugs, fuel & air filter, Rad flush, brake pads etc.

Have used them for last 8 years for both mine and wifes car - Celica 2.0 gt

Use specialist, Protechnical in Nailsea for import stuff - Speedo, delimit , fogs, etc.

QAS in Filton for Autobox and electrical.

Having said alll that will be taking it Zedworld for Cambelt jobby soon.

Ray , does Chasers nighclub still exist?...some memories from there:D

Grasshopper are about 160 miles away from Bristol.

Web site is http://www.grasshopperprosport.co.uk/.

The location details are on the website.

B.

Do wonder bras still get in for free @ Chasers ?

Dilbrain, yep still there, but changed its name to Smokey Joes.

The Agro still spills out on to the streets most w/e's.

K/W getting very cosmo now, with Restaurants /bars all down high street, which is now one way, so little traffic.

memories eh!!

I know it's not local but I always take my Z to Zedworld, especially for the major stuff. I'm using Westerleigh Car Centre at the mo to clean my injectors and sort out some fuel probs as they have speciialist equiment for testing (one of only 250 garages in the UK) so will let you know what they are like when I get the Z back.

Cheers mate,

Mine's in with some one in Kingswood at the mo, so might as well get them to do a service whilst it's there.

Hey Brittonc,

Is that Westerleigh Car Garage on the outskirts of Yate ?

Does a guy called Neil still run it ?

Buzz,

Yup, that's the one and I think the guy was called Neil. They did a good job but the car still isn't running right yet as it needs a new wiring loom!! But at least I now have 6 clean injectors and they managed to find and fix a fuel leak I had too.

So very true. GPS is about 80 miles from me in Worcester (I think) but my Zed will be going to Johnny and Latz for her major work now.

Cars like this need someone who knows what they are doing working on them and have the knowledge and professionalism to do it right, first time.

:)

Brittonc,

My Dad used to work there some 6 years ago. He had a good tale to tell about the goings on behind the garage doors of that place. Neil was a complete Tw*t back then and employed some right arseholes (Dad excluded of course).

I am pleased to hear you had some good service from them, sounds like Neil has realised he needed some decent staff.
