just doing a de-briefing on my ice install think i have got the jiste of it only got one question before i tackle it

 

what is the accesories red wire and where does it go on the unit can't see it mentioned in the destructions

sony ca430x unit

10 disc changer

no amp cause i don't know much about them, what difference in sound do they make???

 

ps anything i should no before i rip everything apart

One thing to watch: Be very careful when getting to the head unit. The spring clips that hold in the metal strip on the centre console have a habit of falling into the dark recesses of the car, never to be found again. Also on my motor at least, the plastic is a little brittle and can crack and split.

 

One more thing - you'll probably put your car into reverse or second gear to move the stick back a bit. Remember to stick it back in neutral when you're done!!

is the red wire from the head unit or the car?

I had trouble when fitting mine, i couldn't find an earth in the connector block, i found a earth tab down in the bottom left side of the space where the unit goes and used that one.
