OK - this is now bugging me....

 

Ive got really badly squeaking windscreen wipers - just replaced them today as they where getting old and thought that might be the problem but no luck - the new ones squeak as well - has anyone come across this problem and found a fix? Does the windscreen need cleaning with anything special or do I need new wiper control arms or is ther any adjustment I can make???

 

Any help appreciated.

What you got in the washer fluid?

 

Also a clean with Autoglym Glass cleaner will do the trick.

my rear wiper made the most horrific scraping, so i too replaced it - but to no avail, so bought exactly what clarkey bought and it done the trick, nice clear glass as well, bloody expensive but would imagine it would last a dogs age.

C, mon vicky you must be good at cleaning windows!! just pretend your washing pots and pans!!!

 

Seriously though you can try putting a bit of WD40 on the spring on the underside of the arm, this should ease the ammount of pressure that it pushes onto the glass with.

hows about squirting some wd40 on the underside of your tounge, hopefully easing the level of pressure of which utter bollox is expelled from you cake hole. :D :D :D

hey laughing boy, i think you REALLY need to go to bed now, it was bilky who needed the help. I replied along with clarkey as to what we have done to rectify the problem, and you piped up about me cleaning windows - so nighty night, up the wooden hill you go sleepy head:p

I am with Vicky on this, I have never heard such a load of

ill-considered rubbish. Why would you think that WD40 would ease pressure on the spring? No offence, but, what the hell?

You know when you and your mates are all in the pub, generally talking crap about stuff, football and girls maybe...........then one of your girlfriends come over and the conversation kinda changes somewhat....................

My wipers squeak more than john-boy opening his walllet, bought some new one's and like the others, made no difference.

Cleaning the windscreen with proper window cleaner does make it go away for a little while but always seems to come back......its REALLY annoying in heavy rain when you need to have them on constantly! I mean REALLY REALLY annoying to the point of nearly crashing cos you've only got them on intermittantly cos you can't bear it!! ha ha :D

I think it's the new scarab one, looks nice, not sure what it'll look like with plates on though - I think mine may have been lowered as I only have about 3" ground clearance, if that!

put fairy liquid in your washer bottle, when its sqeaking give it a squirt with the washers and away goes the squeaking ;)
