Other than high emmisions until she is warmed up, am I likely to damage anything removing the AIVs with a standard ECU

You'd be much better off using proper tools like spanners and screwdrivers to remove your AIV's rather than the standard ECU!:D

 

Sorry, been on those 'other' threads and getting carried away!:rolleyes:

It'll run slightly rich at idle and not have the extra air at the CAT's, but that's unlikely to do any damage, IMHO.

 

More likely you'll remove most of the skin off your knuckles taking it all off ;)

 

Oh - just remember to cap any now redundant vacuum lines.

...removed all mine over a year ago. No probs and passed MOT ok. Car goes faster cos it weighs less. BUT someone was talking about burnt out cats...
