Hi,

Try Mike feeney at MJP...He's a lot cheaper!

If that includes the gearbox mount as well as fitting then it's not too bad. If not, then make sure they grease it before they bend you over !

I bought my centre bearing and gearbox mount for less than that from Mike, although it was a couple of years ago;)

In fact I think I've still got the gearbox mount for an NA manual car...as I sold the car B4 fitting it.

If I remember correctly the centre bearing was approx £140 and the gearbox mount was approx £68.

Sounds about right if it includes the part. £135+ ish and up to 3 hours labour to change it.

Mine needed the aftermarket exhaust dropping too.

Willie

My mechanic changed it in under an hour, which included removing one side of the exhaust !

It's worth doing the gearbox mount at the same time, only takes a few minutes extra - costs about £50 from MJP.

I think there is someplace in the states where you can get a one piece prop for $190, but there are safety concerns with these!

AndyP,

Where abouts in Essex are you (or your mechanic)? My brother lives in Billericay, and I'm visiting next weekend - I'm toying with bringing the 300ZX or the wifes Focus (I need an excuse for the extra £40 fuel cost!).

I need the bearing changed, and I have the parts (from Courtesy - $94 for bearing, $54 for rear box mount - plus dreaded tax/shipping). No exhaust gaskets though...

Ta,

Stuart

Sadly, my mechanic went on a round the world trip about 9 months ago and isn't back yet. Fortuntely I haven't needed his services recently. My recomendation would be to call Mike Feeney at MJP and get him to recommend one of his local contacts.

Sedgeworth,

I have an almost new centre bearing (2 months old) for an an auto TT if you are interested. I also have the prop shaft which was recon'd a year earlier which you can also have.

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers,

Andy

Stuart - it's an easy job. Only hassle is you'll need a hub puller. Any local mechanic could do it. No need to travel.
