Could you give a few details like cost and supplier please I should really get around to getting the cam belts done so a underdrive pulley has got to be worth thinking about.

Some people on TT net have mentioned them causing wear to the crank due to lack of the harmonic damper. Is this a problem or are they just being 'soft'

Hi Paul,

I got my pulley from SGP, you can find a link to their site on tt.net.

It cost me $160 + $65 shipping, plus I had to pay about £35 to UPS in VAT/Duty when it arrived.

It's an ideal time to get the pulley when you're having the cam belts changed as it will be fitted for 'free'.

I've read about the stories of harmonic dampers etc, but I've not heard of anyone having problems with the pulley.

If I were you I'd go for it- you'll not be disappointed!

I think most people are worried about the fact that the overall design of the Unorthodox pulley causes uneaven wear to the Crank, While this may be true to a point i dont think it will get to a catastrophic point any time soon, i mean people in the states have been running them for a good few years and Top Race tuners have been using them for even longer wihtout any troubles.

I would worry more about welding a piston, seizing a turbo or blowing a hole in something before i'd worry about the pulley causing uneven crank wear!

But then im always a bit of a cowboy lol.

Does the asp pulley use the standard length cam belts.Ive found the pulleys at $105 but I dont think it includes belts.

I notice SGP supplies the belts and pulley for $160.

It just saves paying the import duty on $60 if I can buy the belts here

Cheers

Paul.

Paul,

the pulley is a smaller diameter than stock, so it needs shorter belts (I dunno the sizes of the new belts).

Best to get them with the pulley from SGP.
