Hello. I had an argument with my girlfriend over who would win in a drag between my TT manual and her brothers series 4. I know this is pretty dumb but I havent gone up against a rotar yet and I don't wanna look stupid.

Any recommendations on BOV's either?

:D

Its a strange one.

I read about the RX-7 and got some conflicting information. The 0-60 ranged from 4.7 to 5.7 and one site even said 6's.

Again the 1/4 mile ranged from 14secs to 13.0 and that is a big difference.

The RX-7 isnt as powerful at the 300ZX but is a lot lighter.

What I think will happen or should happen, is the RX-7 should start off better but the ZX should then start to pull it back in as the speeds get faster, but whether it can do it in 1/4 mile is hard to predict.

I have a vid of a inside a RX-7 with a ZX infront any they floor it at already quite high speeds, and you can see the ZX pulling away.

Is you ZX standard?

Stuart

Hey Stuart,

I've got a 5zigen exhaust and a heavy clutch. He's car is turbo with high flow cat's and slightly raised boost. It's not anywhere near as clean running as mine, breaks down a lot.

I've beaten a WRX so I was pretty cocky at the time I admit.:(

Increased boost will account for alot, but if its not running well that will account for something too.

Also I think it will be so close that the driver will have a lot to do with it. The RX-7 as said is lighter, but the rear is lighter which means less traction and easier to light up the tyres. The ZX is heavier but more powerful but the extra weight will help the traction when pulling off.

Tell us how you went on.

Stuart

I'm staying positive, I've got new tyres on 18" mags 265's so there's a fair amount of grip. I'll let you know

so mate who won in the end?

I doubt you'll find out. This thread is 2.5 years old, and mrsmizzy has'nt posted on here in over a year.

well, if he wont tell, I will soon ;)

Once my engine's worn in enough, we (myself and some work mates) are heading down to the pod. One of the races would be the z vs a series 4 twin tub.... should be an interesting matchup :)

Had both cars , Nothing much in it if both stock as long as both are running right apart from the rx7 can rev higher. prob be down to the driver on that one.

Been in many stock RX7's, the stock TT Zed will win over the quarter easy.....
