Just wondering why on the turbo boost guage there is a minus figure.. e.g. -7.....0.....+7.? Asked my mate the other day and he didn't have a scooby, so I'm now eagerly awaiting some amazing tech answer so I can impress him next time I'm loosing badly at pool down the local!!

Would have thought it's because when you off boost the engine is pulling the air in - so there is a vacuum. Whwn you on boost the air is getting forced in. I stand ready to be corrected ;)

yeah thats right, the -7 to +7 is in 100mmHg. For some reason they use this in japan, I always thought they used bar's but still, this can be converted to near enough -14 to +14 psi.

near enough -14 to +14 psi.

 How near? - when nail mine (-7 to +7 gauge) it rises to one notch from +7! Anybody got a stock comparison?

Is stock around 9psi?

Cheers

Pete

well its about 13.5psi

the bar from the top sounds about right. You have to remember these gauges suck hard ;). Anywhere around the top shows you have good boost, in the middle and one turbo is out, off the scale and ur over stock :p

Sorry Clarkey matey if one Turbo is out then you get Noooo boost at all because the boost from the good turbo is lost across the balancer bar and down the duff turbo.

( Well not quite as plainly as that but basically correct)
