I think that this is the same system I've seen in the superbike mags. I know that bikers are having trouble staying legal with this gadget though! Last news I read was that they are not legal!!!

They are legal as are radar detectors at the moment. This is due to change soon so I have heard.

I've had radar detectors for years even when they were illegal.

If you see a cop approaching just pull it off your dash before he sees it!

My mate had one confiscated years ago but he had it mounted so you could see it in the middle of his screen. Didn't get a fine or anything.

I've fitted mine above the rear view mirror and you can't see it from outside without close examination.

 

I've always fancied one of those properly installed jobbies. Pigs can't see them then.

 

I had a snooper once, but only thing it detected was B&Q doors opening and closing! LOL!

 

In fairness though, it was pretty good and did have some serious range on it. I think that Harries are selling them now?

That's quite funny reall. B&Q doors.... I've always likes the service station carwash detection feature of my snooper SRD...

 

It's really helpful. I did think about upgrading to a laser version, which basically tells you "You're being done"... sometimes you have to laugh...

 

BTW - I phoned up D-Tweaks and they said it's completely legal, beacuse you are not detecting anything and it interacts with a database of cameras that the police have to tell someone about, beacuse it's a database of accident black-spots (officially!)... Anyhow, I know better that to take some salesmans word for it... It does rely on the company providing the database over the net...

Watching Top Gear the other night, they were rocking on about some some county forces actually publishing all Speed traps locations. On the net, on the radio and local media. Northants do (http://www.northants.police.uk/).

They all should, and paint em bright yellow. They are supposed to DETER speeding not PUNISH speeders. Otherwise it is entrapment, which is illegal in the UK.

They may say that they only receive a percentage of the revenue that is generated, the police I'm on about, but that money has to ploughed back into road safety. Top Gear want to see proof of this in a years time! Should be even more interesting.

 

Someone on here mentioned that there is a camera on the M11 that generates 50K a week and is the top earner in the country! Glad sometimes that I live in de Wales(aiiii), while some of you are nailed down because you live in surburbia, I will be hacking around the vast amount of country roads on Anglesey soon! Not that many coppers with cameras in de Wales(aaiiiiiii) but that doesn't make me a smug bastard...have seen plenty of VASCARS on the A55. That is their favourite passtime!

 

My mate came down to pick up a baby Rottie last year, he went flying passed the Bangor turnoff doing 90 odd, copper was on the sliproad on the other side of the dual. Still got him, f**kers!

Essex is particuarly bad - they have a small collection of the new mobile cameras and a selection of small unmarked vans in either red, blue or white. They park these on the verge and hide the camera behind them - BASTARDS. However, the ONLY good thing about this so far is that they have been concentrating on the villages with 30 & 40 limits, rather than the national (no limits ) areas - so far. However, we can guess where their next targets will be ...

and how about good old Derbyshire, forget about radar and gps the fuckers use helicopters with speed guns and radar,heat detection, infra-red, night vision and ESP!

Dont even see them the've got a huge range so they can fuck you from a distance!

Wankers! It's not that I object to authority but the police have such a lax attitude to real crime.

 

I should know, I used to live next door to a psycho fake yank who owned shotguns and all sorts. Been in Vietnam as a sniper...get my drift!!! Unhinged!

 

Anyway, he made mine and my pixie Mrs' life a f**kin' living hell for 4 years(recently sold and moved coz of him!) and everytime I called in the law they were pathetic! It got to the point where he antangonised me to such a point that I nearly decked him! Next thing, coppers are trying to caution ME as this new law has come in which covers harassment! I had reported him for threatening us loads of times over the years and they would either ring him up or pop down for a chat!

 

Law in this country is ARSE!

 

Stop taking money off innocent motorists and f**k off and get some real crimes investigated and solved...instead of wasting taxpayers hard earned!
