mine went down by a hundred quid but its still over a grand and i had real trouble getting any quotes for an import

Nope £5400 is the cheapest with the mods. As off tomorrow I won't have any insurance and may have to consider a for-sale sign!

Can't afford that kind of dosh and would'nt pay it anyway.

Johnny is having a last ditch attempt with a friend of his who may be able to help. Cheers Johnny.

What mods have you got?

I've had my car a year in July and have discovered all sorts of mods since I first insured my import as standard.

I've got 17" wheels, big exhaust and intake.

I know I need to declare them but what's it going to cost?

Guys,

Have you tried elephant.co.uk. I got the best quote from them beating anyone else by a mile. Admittedly, i've got good no claims but its worth a shot anyway!

I looked at Elephat. Its either Admiral or Gaurdians sister company. Read all of the information first. It make a claim you have to do it all through E-Mail or you can book so see them on-line. If you have any queries you can phone them at a premium phone line at 60p a min. Also they offer an accelerated no claims where you only get insured for 10 months and if you have an accident free 10 months they give you your year no-claims. Will this no-claims hold up in other insurance compaines. I was gonna go with them until I found out about how to make a claim and thought that in 2 years I could have been driving for 5 years and have 6 years no-claims. Other insurance companies wont accept that.

Exhaust, intake and wheels should be fine. It's when you mention ECU, boost upgrade etc that you need to worry

I have Zero no claims (always on my father's insurance) and I just got a quote for £560 fully comprehensive on a 90 TT Manual (Rising to £904 on an import)

30 Year old, no accidents etc.. I know this topic has been done to death, but I can't understand why it is so cheap with zero ncd.

Its with Bell Direct/Admiral on accelerated NCD and I hope this info helps someone. (Still haven't found a bloody car yet tho grrr) - frown.gif
