When I come on to the forum and leave a few messages they dont show up on the list. I can also there are more relpies have been left on a topic than I can see.

If a topic says it has 2 replies, I load it up and there are 2 replies. I come back later it says there are 6 replies click on the topic and I can only see 2 maybe 3.

Is any one else having the same problem as me or am I just embarrassing myself. If so I shall go crawl under a rock.

Yours Shamefully,

Stuart

Reload the page and you should see them then.

I have. I have refeshed the window, loaded the site up again, cleaned out my temp internet files, tried opening the topic in a new window every thing.

Must be me, or my ISP

Assuming you're using Internet Exploder 5.5 you need to go to Tools/Internet Options, Temporary Internet Files/Settings and set Check for newer version of page to 'every visit to page'

Hopefully that should help - it improved mine.

I have been having the same problem for some time with IE 5.0, and checked the settings several times. Occasionally I can correct by using Shift & Reload, but not always.

Geoff

Have the same problems at home. Also with stuff that I post, it never appears until site is closed down and re-loaded. And yes, I do have check for a newer version every time set but it doesn't seem to do any good. Mind you, I have next to no RAM memory and the poor thing keeps going into ROM to work, plus which it won't defrag so it's probably my machine that's causing it as the work's PC is fine.

The point you are all missing here is that the product you are using to view these pages was written by Microsoft - and you expect it to work??? hahaha - no chance wink.gif

Long live Billy Gates..... NOT!!!!

nowadays, IE is far superior to netscape, like it or not, but it's the truth frown.gif

if you have all the settings correct, then it is likely that your ISP might have some transparent caches between you and the rest of the net...

nothing you can do about that, except complain to them

Don't think the version or OS of Netscrape(!) was mentioned. I have tried with v6 on W2K and it appeared to be OK. Older versions running under Unix (or even VMS) are unlikely to work as well.

I've had this prob too.

Refreshing the page makes no difference but going to a different page and waiting a couple of minutes before going back seems to sort it. very strange.

I'm on BT Internet...

I have the same probs as above, but only now and then. Pictures are the sod though I cant see any on this site some days! (others ok) I dunno! and as for posting them I give up.

Having big problems at the moment, but am at work so something could be going on here!

Can't get onto the site without finding back door URL's.

Not impressed, anyway, if I don't communicate for the rest of the week will be back on at the weekend.

Later all

Tim

;-(

What I have noticed is that the little lightbulbs to indicate new posts have stopped working (always on). I have tried this on several clients, some on BTInternet, some at work and they all seem the same, therefore, probably a server/aplication thing.

Anyone else see the same ?

Right, can get on, but only some pics and carols(smilies) are loading!!! Craig, own up, you've been playing with more than just the cookie variable haven't you? LOL!

nope, done nothing !

my home machine has the lightbuld problem as reported by AndyP, but my work machine has no problems at all, and neither suffer from the delayed post problem....

What version of IE are you guyZ running and what security settings - I've got zero problems either end. I'm running IE 5.5.

I have found that when you know that not all the messages are being shown on the screen, right click in the frame and click refresh, you may have to do this a few time. This them brings up the rest of the messagaes.

Got Broadband a few days ago. COOL biggrin.gif

thats got rid of the problem too.

I've got Exploder 6.something on one machine and 5.5 with all the patches on another, both show the same symptoms frown.gif

Incidentally 6.0(?) is a sack of poo, the security settings look trendy but are shot to pieces, cookies and all that crap don't work right.

I'm Mr. Happy now! Must have been something here at my end!
