The result is the following....

- I do not release this How-To (but then, too bad if you have the problem, and it's a pretty common one)

- If I release it...

--> Then, I'll have to detail how to get access to the odometer, if I don't, it's useless

--> Once they have an access to the Odometer gears...well...if you have an IQ of more than 20..you'll realise how easy it is to modify the

recorded value

--> Anyway, the "bad" guys already know how to forge the odometer, they probably do NOT wait on my how-to to do that, and they're

already doind it.

--> And it's illegal anyway.

So...Either I do NOT give the info, at all....or I give it all....

What do you think....

Henri

Yeah the bandidos know every trick in the book on odometers frown.gif

Wankers did my 1st and only Z from 135000 back to 84000 miles.

This added (using DOT calculations) £2300 to the value of the car. £2300 for a couple of hours work. They also comprehensively forged the history.

But I like the how to Henri, there cannot be too many 'how-to'z in this world smile.gif

Perhaps next a 'how to' on fool proof ways of checking if a Zed has been 'clocked'... if only there was... frown.gif

Good write up Henri... but never realised anyone ever had a problem with odometer readings on the Z.

What are you working on next?

How about... a cure on why do 1990+ Z's tend to pull to the left??

Very nice write-up Henri,

BTW - When are you next over in the UK?

Henri, I wish all manuals were written as clearly as your "How to". I have had a problem with the speed signal from the gearbox(now fixed)but not the odometer. At least I know how to disassemble the guages pod now.

Cheers

Bill M

Bill, I think I have a problem with the speed sensor on the gearbox (auto)

What were the symptoms & how did you fix it??

I did a check on the auto which said it was this sensor that was faulty.

Have had the connectors check & was told that they are OK??
