Hi, I have noticed some people running with no front number plate, especially Supras with big intercoolers.

I am thinking of doing the same, with speed cameras NOT on my mind.

Anyone have any idea as to the fine/points situation. I think its just a producer and take the car to the MOT station to prove its back on.

I do remember someone on here suggesting carrying your front number plate in the boot in case you get pulled over, and then say it fell off :D :D

Not sure of legality though

I knew a lorry driver who said to the rozzers that his number plate fell off. They did him for insecure load!!!! :( :D

WOW, scary I seen my name on here so thought I'd best find out what teh fook is going on!!

My name is Mark Stevens too!!! Weird!!! Must be a zed thing!

You could just get a smaller one made up and afix it to the side of the bumper it would still look ok

Marc:)

Spot mine?

Not had any attention from the pigs yet but I have been off the road for ages LOL

Offence code H246 - Registration plate failing to comply to regulations, non endorsable £30 fine. Courtesy of Nottingshire constabulary!!

Hey b19rks, is this FACT? As in you seem to know what you are saying. Thanks.

And to Mark Stevens, you sure have a GREAT NAME, lets hope we meet one day.

That's the Nottingham gestapo for you !

If it's non-endorsable though.......

It will upset Ken too. And at £30.00 it is cheaper than the fine and I bet you get away with it for ages. Whan was the last ime anyone checked to see if their numberplate was still there?

......make sure you say that you did check over your car and that it WAS there before you set off.

As long as there are no other offences then you should be OK,unless you go to Nottingham!

Personally I would rather not seek to attract attention to myself(yes,I know, very difficult in a Z).But something obvious like the lack of a front plate is bound to be like' flies round sh*t' for most coppers.

Cheers,;)

a missing number plate is classed very similarly to a misrepresented numer plate, for which the fine is up to £1000

there is also more recent legislation that makes it a much more serious offence incurring endorsements or even imprisonment !!

coincidentally, these came into force around the same time as specs cameras got type approval and the accepted use of number plate recognition systems for car tax dodgers was introduced

it must be nice to be able to think up a money making scam, and then create a law to enforce that scam

i am looking around for the latest legislation, which i saw recently, but forgot to bookmark... doh
