Current brakes are looking tired. Feels like at least one piston is sticking, pads are low and disks look worn.

So I'm thinking of upgrade however on a budget. I have done a bit of a site search on Skyline front brake disk/caliper replacement which sounds tempting, but I'm not sure which ones to go with. ( If I can find any decent ones).

I have heard of R32, R33 and R34 models being used.

The main problem is I will be using stock wheels.

If anyone has swapped these units or knows which is the best direct replacement for a UK 1991 auto I would be very grateful for any info!!

Are we talking much improved braking over the old units or should we just replace disks with grooved units, and a complete original piston/caliper overhaul??

im pretty sure you need at least 17" rims with the GTR brakes. im sure someone can confirm.

warren (300z) has done this so perhaps he can give you more info :)

I think to feel the benifit you have to have 17inch alloys on and larger discs.

If your stock ones are a little worn, you can get resealing kits to make them nice again.

yeah you need 17s for R33 R34 but R32 are no bigger than 300zx brakes.

the difference is quite amazing and ill say it again and again, its probably the best upgrade i have done to the zed yet.

you can replace stock discs with brembo sports discs ect from 3g racing, which are good, with some decent pads ect, youll notice a big difference,.

Yeah you need 17s for GTR brakes because the calipers are so big, the R32 calipers are the same as the Z ones.
