Got my Z back this week after going on 5 months.

It's had a full engine rebuild with Ross pistons, Nismo steel head gaskets, oversized intercoolers (thanks to TimmyTurbo), and huge ballbearing turbo's (not sure exactly what they are; universal turbos built them and they have Garret stamped on them, but no recognisable model - GT25 , GT28 etc.)

Only problem I've got now is fuelling - at 1.25bar its right on the limit of what the standard injectors and fuel pump can handle, so next week its going back to the garage for an uprated fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator to keep me going until I can afford my 750cc injectors.

The end goal is to get around 500rwhp - pushing around 1.5 bar, although admittedly traction is becoming a major issue as yesterday I got wheelspin.... in the dry.....in second gear..... in a straight line....at half throttle:D

This kinda makes me wonder about another thing (I know I,m rambling , but it's quiet at work and I'm bored $hitless) the car seems to produce more power than it did before the rebuild , but at lower boost - is this cause ball bearing turbos spool up faster?

anyone on here done a turbo swap and noticed similar results?

am I ever going to get out of work?;)

and just to get this moved to fight club:BLACK IMPORT MANUAL TT'S ARE BY FAR THE BEST Z'S - ALL OTHERS ARE INFERIOR TAT;) :p :D

Right I've finished my epic level rant - let the flaming commence:p

I'm not gonna flame ya - couldn't agree more!!;)

SOUNDS AWESOME. Stock fuel pump can handle over 800 bhp? so not sure why you say its on the max, injectors yes you need to upgrade again 555cc will be sufficient for 500 whp.

got any pics :D:D

And yes larger blowers will produce more power low down.

There is some debate on TT.net about the fuel pump!!

It is not whether the fuel pump can deliver the amount of petrol for big hp, but whether it can deliver the pressure required for greater than 17PSI boost!

It has been discussed that the oem Z pump can only get to 60PSI, when you get to pressures above 17PSI you need 70-75PSI!

One of the potential problems of putting uprated pumps on is that it might not be compatible with the OEM EFI system!

Not disagreeing with anyone, just putting some info up to be discussed!!

Sounds like the next customer for the traction control unit :D

AdamR,zed sounds awsome,i have the 555 inj and JWT Sport 500 Turbos, and these definately spool up very quick,on two previous zeds that i had they had a few mods but stock turbos, and i thought they were quick at spooling up having de-cat systems, but when i got my present zed it caught me out first time i pulled away coming out of a roundabout, back end came around a bit, very quick spool up compared to other two zeds, taught me to respect it more very quickly when applying more throttle!;)

Tee hee

AND FOR MY POINT MAMMA IT DOES DEPEND!!!

Manuals may be quicker but they are not faster but when it comes down to it A Zed is a Zed and well done indeedy!!!!!

I have driven both and prefer the Auto, which is what I chose after testing a manual. The auto is smoother, protects the engine better and when you can blow anything into the weeds after 65, does it matter? Manual or Auto, there is few enough of us that it shouldn`t really matter. If I met a manual in need of a race I`d let him go for it because I just love my Zed!!!!!!!

Fast? Pah! Top Speed? Pah!

For God`s sake, we are driving the greatest living sports car on the planet.......does anything else REALLY matter.......NAH!!!!!

BLACK MANUAL IMPORT TTs ARE DEFINITELY THE BEST. MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE A MEET?????

... I couldn't agree more, I don't see what the auto/manual problem is- A ZED IS A ZED!! :D

Look schmuck - I didnt say black Z's looked better , just like I didnt say manuals were better than autos .

All I did was point out the simple truth that import manual TT's in black ARE better!!:p

one point I will concede however: silver cars are muuch easier to keep clean (perhaps thats where the myth of silver Z's looking better came from;) )

All Z's are fkin rad.

Even SMW1 's pink Z looks good in a certain light.

Auto, manual, a fookin pedal-Powered Z.

I love 'em all.

In my limited vocabulary, Quick is acceleration and fast is top speed.

So, an auto is not as quick as a manual but is faster....see? I know its a bit screwed up but it works for me....;)

A silver uk zed is even better cos they are rarer!
