talking aircon

I've got a jap-TT with aircon, but I can't seem to make the air come out of anywhere other than the windscreen vents.

Nothing comes out the side vents or the under dash ones.

Result = frost bite in the toes and red head ...

I've tried every combination of button pushing I can think of. Am I missing a buton somewhere or has a fan/pipe/valve/heater matrix/what-ever gone??

all the dash controls appear to be working fine. lights come on when pushed etc. aircon is responcive to temp changes, but no air flow other than windscreen vents

Any ideas

Cheers

Mark

I take it you have pushed AUTO button thats next to the Screen BUTTON.;)

Yip tried the aircon button.

also check the screen button wasn't jammed in, it's working fine.

Yip the air fron screen vents responceto the aircon temp settings. I move temp up it gets hotter, down and it cools.

I've also tried using the "econ" button which I assume bypasses the aircon and just uses the fans and engine heat to warm the air (like non aircon cars)

no difference, still no air from other vents.

Cheers Vijay

I understand about 20% of what it's going on about but I gave it a go.

As near as I can see the diagnostics don't show anything out of the ordinary.

But I still only get air out the windscreen vents, which is responcsive to temp change and speed.

does this mean it's something more mechanical? broken air pipes or som'in?

The series 1 air con is terrible for directing the air, because you cant do it.

Put the air on 40, and press the Auto button then press down to bring down the temp. When it gets down to 25 ish it starts to come out of the sides. But it vairies between 28ºC and 22ºC, depending on what the temperature is at the time.

One way to test it is to put it on its coldest because the cold air always comes out the side vents.
