A funny occurence and a question...

 

Was trotting into the office today, behind an Escort, no geat rush. Didn`t see behind but a Mitsi Evo VII trying to make a point blasted past, engine screaming away, when a plume of blue smoke appeared from his tail..posible turbo seal perhaps...prat.

 

Anyways, my zed with mods has around 430BHP. How do you folk think it would cope with an Evo or M3/M5 on a 0-60 basis. I am a bit of a grandad and very rarely use the turbos but do get a bit annoyed with the M3 factor, ie getting as close as possible to your rear bumper before overtaking. Stock 0-60 is about 5.6 secs with 280BHP, so how fast do you reckon a Zed can go with 150BHP more?

I say Evo up to 60 4x4 you see;)get past 70 and bye bye Evo:D

Thing is the Evo 7 is more refined and less sporty. The best one IMHO is the 5 and the 6.

Against the EVO VII from 0-60 its kind of impossible to be ahead.

 

430bhp 2-wheel drive (traction??) against a 4-wheel drive.

Unless you race him with MT drags then it would be a fair match. (0-60 only)

 

However after 60 is a different story. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and bye bye.

 

Against an M3/M5. With good tyres and good driver you can have him.

'course once you're both already rolling, like when he came up behind you, his 4 wheel drive is no longer much advantage; just a way of reducing bhp at the wheels :D !

 

If it's a nice open road then just go for it anyway !

My mates had one for a year and soon as I got the Zed he's up for a race.

 

Me being sencible ;) decided I needed to get used to the zed before taking him on. (it being manual 'n' all)

 

Should I start with the excuses now or take him on and laugh all the way to the finish line?

One thing that I have noticed.....

 

After I got the Zed back from JeffTT, I never used the turbos until last week when overtaking a cheiftan tank (no I`m not mad, I have an army ordnance supply depot about 5 miles from my house).

 

The tank was going 40ish at the time...thought I`d put the foot down a bit to get past and OMG!!!! The faster the Zed went, the more acceleration there was. Never felt anything like it in my life. foot was only about 1/2 way down but bloody hell! Was almost at the ton before I realised what the f*** was happening.

 

See what you mean about the 0-60 though but this thing is venomously, evilly fast from 50-100. Can`t imagine anything touching it. But then again, I`ve never seen a Mondeo.....sorry Skyline go from 50-100. Might be interesting.

It was after a drink on this hill in Singapore called Mount Faber... My friend TK was driving a EVO VII GTA... wonder y e hell he bought a automatic transmission... but tho the triptronic gear does work wonder... anyway, he was impressively tailing me so hard (he could have overtake me if not for the small roads).. traffic lights after traffic lights... but hitting the highway 3rd gear after 120km/h.. Thank God he had his windows up if not he would have suffered overinhaling of smoke....I'm SUPER PROUD TO OWN A '92 300ZX TT...

I blew a new shape M5 recently which was a nice surprise. Driver didn't think so though, wouldn't even look over when we stopped!

I killed a M5 last Sunday at Box Hill, I must have had about 30 car lengths on him!

LOL about the Gixxer, tbh I can't really imagine the future of motorbikes, every year the new best thing is out which supposidly makes the rest shit again, although of course they are still phenomenal. Whats the GSXR1000 replacement gonna be like??????

was out racing a mate in a scooby last week,no challenge on the motorway,but i wanted to c how fast it would go,n just for the record i took my uktt z off the clock,now thats f%$king fast for a 6 grand motor n it didnt blow up was v happy,will try for a pic next time,waiting on new tyres now.............

I'll try and get a copy sounds fun! I borrowed the Gixer from a mate to try out!!!!!! Must admit Im hankerin g after another bike, my CR500 motard is a right laugh but 200 mph is much more fun!!

 

Mind u I took out a BMW Cup Sport recently, really suprised me, easy knee down ever! It even has titanium sliders on the engine casing FFS! BUT 9k OTR Jesus!

Those CR500 are mental i used to race a CR250 and that was bad enough CR500 with road tyres bet you love it.

 

That BMW sounds a bit pricey but id like to see someone getting the engine down on it i thought they had loads of ground clearence!!!

 

Plus summer is coming so i think you should treat yourself to another road bike we will have to meet up sometime for a ride out!!!!

Hey Guys, I have a bit of an update....

 

Was on the M6 North of Birmingham earlier today and in the middle lane doing about 70. was attacked by an Evo VII (the old story, coming up your butt and zooooming off with blonde in the passenger seat). felt pissed and after asking the wife if she minded, took off in pursuit.

 

Traffic slowed to 60ish near the M54 junction and after, I hammered the B****ard! I mean hammered, just destroyed, obliterated, disintegrated.......demolecularised..you get the point.

 

 

Isn`t it just superb? I have a 13 year old car that when it can be bothered (auto you see) can mutilate almost any other car on the road! Forget Lexus, forget Lotus Exige, this Zed is utterly phenomenal! Utterly! You guys were right......f**K me, this thing can move!

 

Ol, I am getting over the hormone thing right now...just waiting until 2004 when some poor 350Z owner thinks he`s a clever boy!
