Finally decided to make an account here and introduce myself, I'm Mohsan.
I officially became a proud Zed owner in February. A 1992 twin turbo manual 2+2. It's a UK spec in grey, currently on 70k miles.
The car had a couple of owners from new, made it to 69k miles with full dealer history until around 2015 someone bought it and stored in one of those carcoons for 10 years undriven. It's very much been preserved in whatever condition it was in 10 years ago, mostly very tidy, especially the interior.
Exterior, while mostly in good condition, there's a bit of tlc needed. A small rust bubble on the rear quarter to address, the sills have been at some point repaired and not blended very well to the paint and stone guard finish, and it looks like the front drivers side wing has been resprayed rather poorly and is flaking. Will look to sort these before winter.
The original taillights had some cracking but a fresh set of 99 spec taillights have solved that.
Mechanically, it's a lovely drive. Pulls really well in all gears and sounds nice even with the stock exhaust. The seller had it serviced and replaced quite a bit (shocks, brakes, master cylinder) to get it roadworthy and pass an MOT after being parked for so long. Since buying I've also had the timing belt replaced and changed spark plugs. If there's anything else I should look to get checked or sorted for a zx parked that long I'm all ears.
At some point I'll be looking to get an exhaust, ideally keeping the quad tip look. And then wheels, I'm torn between running the stock wheels or going aftermarket. The stock wheels actually look good in my eyes but tyres for this size are limited and can get pretty expensive.
Have been wanting to get my hands on an old school jap car for ages, almost gave up with some of these crazy prices. Now I finally have one, looking forward to learning more and enjoying this piece of automotive history.
Any thoughts/suggestions the zx community has I'd be happy to hear.
