Me and my daughter do a roadtrip each year about this time of year.

This year we decided to do the Republic of Ireland and extend our usual 4 days to 5.

This is the first time I've had to see just what the ZX is capable of. Sarah who being an ex karter can pedal very competently has a 986 Boxter which is known for it's sweet handling so is a good benchmark.

The good news is both cars performed faultlesly over the 1.3k plus miles in very hot temperatures and I was very impressed with the way mine performed and Sarah commented on how good it looked when she was following me, especially when her car is shod with newish PS4'S while mine has 12 year old Continentals.

Things I noticed with mine are, it's very comfortable over long seat time, the windscreen didn't get anywhere near the bug splatter as the Porsche, there's very little buffeting with the roof panels off or indeed with the windows down as well.

My last two weekend toys were a TVR Tamora and a Lotus Elise S1 which are both fantastic sports cars and although the ZX is more of a GT car, I'm very happy with it.

Roll on Scotland next year.
