Having been lurking around the site for a few weeks may I say thanks to everyone for a lot of useful information. The "keys" thread was just one that has helped me understand what the keys I have with my new Z do .. and yes, I have a titanum one I'm glad to say. I do however have some questions now that I have had the beast for a few days. The car is a 1990 jap import, NA, 5 speed 2+2, cloth interior etc etc. A great canvas to start work on...

1. The car it seems to me is in good condition (I intend getting it looked at properly ASAP) but does seem to be suffering from having had too much sun, something I guess won't happen in UK! The dash for example has lifted in the centre near the join at the windscreen. I expect this can be fixed but is it a common problem with Jap imports or do I have a one off problem in this.

2. It has the Jap el cheapo cassette radio. The speakers in the driver side door don't seem to be working although the passenger and rear ones do. This could be bad wiring at the radio unit or at the speakers in door but is it difficult finding a CD player to replace the Nissan unit or will most fit in the slot

provided.

3. I notice it has an aromathingymejig in the consale... is this standard and what do I put in the box to make the car smell sweeter than it already does.

4. I'd like some new dials in the dash -- is this a big job?

5. And a final one for now, can manuals for the car be bought anywhere? I'd just like to know what everything does in the cockpit, where the bonnet latch for example (no I haven't looked yet) is and so on.

welcome to the place Larry and I hope your 300zx is cushty for you:)

I think you can just use an adhesive to sort the curly fascia, I would replace all the speakers - 6/9's gone in the doors with some creative work and 7/5's slot into jpsec rears - JBL make nice 7/5 and a guy called Bob and safeandsound would help you out.. I'd remove it all and replace the speakers and headunit - give bob a call he looks after forum members real well.

N'er heard of a aromathingymejig, sounds good:) my car often smells of farts.

Talk to someone like Iain(macca) about dash mods, he has them all (check out the rides section)

If you want the 300zx service manual and parts microfische catalogue on CDR give me a mail with your address and Ill mail you copies.

Cant help with the weather, though I believe Timmy_turbo might be able to ;)

Cool Senna.. a better security system and a new sound system .. a good starting point me thinks....

Will ask them for details even though I don't need a stereo system as ott as their demo car...

Larry:)

Thanks a mil... much appreciated that -- when I saw the dash sticking up I guessed it wouldn't be a big job but the tricks will make it all the more easier.

I guess something like two part araldite would do the job?

Larry

Any contact adhesive will do fine, it's much easier to use than a two part and sticks like blit to a shanket ! ;)
