Morning,

After breaking down yesterday, it looks like my water pump has decided to leak. I've got a couple of questions:

1. Is it easy to change and anything I should be carefull about?

2. When draining/refilling the system, has anyone undone the drain plugs on the cylinder block?

Cheers

Vijay

Might not be the pump iteself but one of two short hoses that go between the pump and the block.

Pump is diificult to get at. You need to take off the front of the engine as if you were to replace a timing belt. So you might as well as replace the hoses and the pump while you're there (unless pump is low mileage)

You don't need to remove the sump plugs. Use the tap at the bottom of the rad.

im looking at doing my water pump aswell,

its quite a job from what i can gather.

almost like cambelt job as you need to change belts

The water pump is about as inaccessible as anything can get on a Zed...it's the same amount of work and hassle as changing the cambelt, which is why it's advisable to do it at the same time. :)

water pump leaking sounds like you need the 60k maint.

meaning timing belt the works. courtesy nissan has a

complete kit... hope this helps..

Call it a cambelt change!

When you replace the waterpump remember to replace the two water hoses behind it;)

Ive got a brand new Nissan one boxed! Anyone want it!
