hi folks, maybe im just being stoooopid, but what is the difference between the keys for a z??

 

the main key (i think) is the silver one with the logo on it (very light in weight) but the red and black ones dont open all the same locks - i,e red one refuses to open boot, but doors!!

 

Has the importer given me another z's key by mistake, and it just happens to open the doors??

Bonjour.... Back to the key thing. I've only got the RED key, but it opens both doors and boot.(haven't tried locking glove box yet).

Just thought I would add this little gem of info as this is the most entertaining thread yet.

Curious..............I've only got a silver key, but it won't open the boot :confused:

Most probably the boot lock is not situated correctly.

 

I have trouble with mine from time to time. Some times it opens it fine and other times I am battling with it for ages and I lose.

Cant believe i had'nt looked at this thread cos i tought it was about boring old keys!!! When i saw so many posts i had to have a look to see what was so interesting about them!!!

 

And now ive learnt 2 things;

 

1) my boot lock may be mis aligned as i cant open the boot with the silver key (but who cares thats what the handle is for).

 

2) NEVER EVER try to pull a bird with a Zed as they'll rip you to peices!!!:D :D :D

 

I reckon this one may mnage 100 replies!!

LOL...the longest thread in Zed Forum history was the Traction Control group buy thread on the "old" forum. :D

 

 

 

On the key front, also check that your key isn't worn as then it will not operate the lock correctly. :)

I've only 2 keys one silver one and one with black plastic,not sure if they do anything different.........

need to ask some more questions regarding zed, but im gonna word them very carefully next time - and then run. Owning a zed is great, as is this forum - only hope i havn't offended anyone;)

Or ask which colour's best / fastest. ;)

o.k .........i think my silver auto tt is far superior to any red manual na going, anyone agree with me:D :D :D :D

 

also, in true fast show styleee, will a gween zed go fwaster than a wed zed
