Got my hands on a manual impul ecu. Does anyone know the pot in the picture is for?
and it will be ok to just swap it over with my old auto one?

On a stock ECU that is the ECU diagnostics pot to get the red LED to the right of it to flash error codes. The FSM has the details.

Japanese aftermarket ECUs tend to be mapped for the higher octane fuel that is available in Japan (~100 ron) and are

usually more agressive in the fueling and timings as a result. This can cause issues with detonation when the using lower grades

of fuel in the UK. It all depends on the mapping Impul did.
