Simply Japanese is being held on SUNDAY 23rd JULY at Beaulieu - details here....

https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-japanese/

We have a club stand booked - currently for 10 cars - but can alter that up to two weeks before the show by contacting the organisers.

We will be meeting in the Tesco car park in Applemore at 07:30 and then driving to the show together. The meet at the Tesco car park is a fun little pre-meet with the Zed club, toyota club and others meeting there too.

The southern guys will meet up along the A27 corridor and drive to Applemore together. Starting at Polegate and collecting other members along the route, it takes about two hours. It then takes about 15 minute to get to the show. We start queuing at about 08:30.

If you want to meet up along the route (A27/M27) let me know, I can create a whatsapp group and share my location while I'm driving so you can track our progress and catch up to us. I do not touch my phone while driving, so once we have left, I will be uncontactable until we reach Applemore.

A few rules:

  • Tesco have never stopped us from using their car park or complained, as it is a great meeting point with petrol on tap we don't want to lose it, so please, no donuts, burnouts, etc.
  • The New Forest has wild animals, ponies, horses, deer, rabbits, honey badgers... please follow all speed limits and refrain from being silly
  • Inside Beaulieu, once parked up, please leave engines off. They have neighbours and need to keep the noise to a minimum.

I have posted up on the Facebook page but I cant meet people on the way along the A27. rought times would be:

..........Applemore Tesco (Southampton): 07:30 - 08:15
Beaulieu Motor Museum: 08:30

Ive given 30 mins at the services for people to meet us that would come down the M3 and 45 mins at the Tesco for people that may not be able to get out of bed early! We will leave at 08:15 strickly so that we get to the show as early as possible to avoid massive queues.

See you all soon!

We'll be there by 8.15!

We're staying about 15 minutes away, just outside So'ton - same place as last year 🙂

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks everyone for a most enjoyable day at Beaulieu. Nice to see some ladies there as well! Our Fairlady overheated homebound at Kettering. Leaking/split coolant pipe. Managed after a few miles of walking to find a filling station. Three police cars passed me walking on the verge, no-one stopped! Anyhow eventually got the ZX rad refilled, managed to wedged some cloth between pipes to help seal the split, got her running and not overheating and made it home. Will invest in new silicone pipes this week!

Great to see you and Jen again too Jason - and sorry to hear about the overheating...... 😞  But glad to hear you made it home safely, and that you found the source of that water leak!

Another Simply Japanese has come and gone - and as usual, it was a great event....

Thanks to Tom for organising things - and to everyone who came along. Whilst we didn't quite achieve the promised number of attendees, we still had some fine Zeds on show - and this time the UK cars outnumbered the imports 😄

Plus, despite the recent run of bad weather, the sun actually shone for much of the day!!

So here are some pics - starting with me leaving the hotel to meet Andrew, Jason and Tom at Tesco's Dibden.....
