Hello everyone, let me start off by saying thank you for accepting me into this group. I'm Azzy, 30 years old and ive been building/restoring Japanese cars since the age of 10 years old. Was never really a silvia or skyline fan but for those that know me... know that i love complex and complicated cars! Always loved the look of a 300zx but only the SWB model (sorry lwb owners).

But yes I went to a friends lock-up filled with various skylines and silvias 'Drift missiles' but in the corner of my eye this got my attention.... Its a SWB slicktop! wow! i never really liked the T-Bar, so i bought it with a huge job ahead of me...

To those that recognize it.... YES IT IS SLICK PETES OLD 300zx!!!!!! So if anyone has any more information or pictures please sent them to me!

But due to other commitments and projects I haven't been making videos car because I have been busy!

From looking at the wiring, it appears the car was a Naturally Aspirated Automatic, however the car how has a fully rebuilt vg30dett with a manual gearbox, also with the TT rear Diff.

It has brembo front brakes, polybushed and adjustable arms arms all around, subframe and diff mounts are polybushed too :)

then heres when the real work began haha, whilst the engine was out I cut our all the rust and resprayed the engine bay.

managed to get my hands on a DETT and rebuilt it.

built up the interior :)

Once the car was up and running, i then focused on bodywork!! gave it a lick of paint, impressed myself with the results!!

This is how it looks now :) the car is far from complete but it is progressing!

Keen to know everyone's opinions and thoughts!

Looking forward to hear from you all :)

thanks fellas! but now here comes the tricky part.... where can I find some windscreen trims(run along the windscreen and the roof) and rear boot plastics?

New slicktop windscreen and roof trim pieces listed here in the US (Part#'s shown). You will probably need new fixing clips too.

Try Banzai (banzai-breakers) on eBay for SWB trim. He has listed the parts in the past.

What spoiler are you looking for?

Luke at Zcentre does various copies of the OEM ones. Genuine OEM ones are NLA.

There's also Z1, and CZP on the states who sell various OEM copies and aftermarket options.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Take a look at this slicktop for ideas. It has the TwinZ Type 1 rear spoiler which runs a second to the best one (IMO) that being the OEM '89 spec.

As for the OEM '89 spec, they are shown as NLA in Nissan's parts database. However, they do still seem to turn up when a request goes in to

Nissan UK - Part# J6030-42P25. Worth a try if you want new, but expensive (~£700). Needless to say the fit and finish is perfect.

s/h OEM '89 spec spoilers are usually water damaged and rotten, however I have seen them in undamaged condition off old wrecks. How

or why they have remained that way I have no idea, but they do survive. It all depends on how long you are prepared to wait.

now that is a very good looking spoiler! yes id love one like that!

Car is coming along nicely, you don't mess around! Would take me years to get that far lol!! I Like the colour

Worth giving Nissan a shout for a spoiler, like Andrew says they are no longer available but they do still come up. I got mine from my local Nissan dealer just last year, from Netherlands stock.

Hi guys and gals, an overdue update. I managed to source some bilstein shock absorbers with HKS lowering springs for dirt cheap. it has completely transformed the cars looks and feel! for now I'm just enjoying it as it is. though I'm now itching for another project!
