In preparation for a potential purchase of a Zed, I need some wheel inspiration!

I humbly request photos of your cars so I can see what wheels look like what when fitted and, if possible, please post size and offsets etc too!

Its a chance to show off ? and thanks for the help!

I am looking at Rota Slip's 18" in Hyper Black but struggling on the right size and I struggle to get my head around ET's and stuff.

Ideally I'd like an 8.5j front and 9.5j rear, but the only 8.5j in HB is an ET44.

One company said I could do 8.5j all round with ET30 but they have silver only.

Would a 9.5 fit on the front with an ET of either 30 or 38?

I assume if i bought a set and the wheels didn't clear the caliper, I could by spacers, but then that would run the risk of sticking out of the wheel arch and rubbing?

Cars lowered by the way with R33 calipers up front.

ET +44 and 8.5J is fine for the front.

The lower the positive ET gets to 0, the more it’s going to stick out.

You don’t ideally want a 8.5J although you could for the rear, wider the better for the extra 25mm tyre width, that a 9.5J will give you.

So a 9.5j with say an ET 38 would fit the front ok?

If so, if I bought 18x9.5j all round with ET38 front and ET30 rear, that would fit without any rubbing or sticking out the arch?

Not necessarily. The inner shape of the spokes needs to be taken into account.

The way to be sure of clearance with a BBK and a specific wheel is to get hold of the profile drawing and use as per

the instructions in the attached pdf. This profile drawing was the one I used for the R33 AP CP5555 kit and my Blitz

wheels. I'm not aware of one for the R33 Brembo kit however.

Your front is basically a 8.5J +26 poke wise, possibly giving you a 10mm spacer option for very flush/brake clearance, a 9.5J will sit closer to the suspension strut, may be some rubbing on full lock.

The rear is not a problem.

The front is very near but ultimately the decision is yours.

Exactly this.......!!

I made that mistake - going for new wheels in the same size and offset as my old ones...... Only to find that the flat spokes of the new wheels would not even clear OEM calipers! I was lucky, the wheel company sold me new fronts at cost, with an off-set which cleared the calipers. And I managed to sell the "wrong" ones on Ebay. Otherise I would have been £00's out of pocket or would have needed spacers.

And whilst I'm (fairly) happy to use spacers on the rears, I would prefer to avoid it on the fronts as I don't want any chance of high-speed steering wheel vibration problems ?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
