In a bit of a pickle as the car transporter I wanted to use, to take the Zed to Jims, is busy on the day I need.

 

Can anyone recommend a good company in the South?

These guys have numerous ones around the UK for self drive. I've used them a few times over the years.

These guys are local to you and me. I've used them many times. Just be careful, most companies put on a mileage limit on the transporters and it can be a lot more expensive than going over the mileage on a normal hire car/van. Choice is 50p/mile for miles over 250miles on the transporter, rather than 5p/mile over 250miles on their other hire vehicles. I can drive it for you if you want (I do it all the time for a friend) if we can find a day off together and you treat me to a Tesco meal deal and a beer for afterwards!

Now that's true club spirit right there! Thanks mate really appreciate the offer. Woke up this morning, saw your message and I was going to take you up on it at first, but I put the job on a transport job bidding website last night and a great transporter offered a decent price.

I thought probably better to leave it to him to save you the hassle and also wasn't sure if you'd be free on the only day I can do - next Saturday 11th. I considered the trailer hire when you first text me, but realised the huge box's of body parts I've got including bumper, spoiler and body trim etc. probably wouldn't fit in the cab, even if I did squeeze some of it into the zed. Will be driving down in my daily with seats down and jam packed full of the parts.
