I have a very irritating vibration / rattle sound somewhere around the engine, does anyone had this sound before or knows what it can be?....it drives me nuts!

 

To it sounds like something loose which is vibrating.

I already went three times to a mechanic, but he still has not found it.

Everything is installed correctly, nothing loose, so that makes it even more strange.

Head shields all checked, dynamo, etc., I can't stand it that it's impossible to find, it's so irritation when you drive in a city and the rattle is really loud then.

It destroys all the fun driving. 

Check radiator mounting brackets that the lower bushes haven't collapsed. 

Also check rad, AC rad, oil cooler etc - anything with fins - are all in one piece. 

The radiator is new, I just replaced the cooling fan, because it was full with cracks, the plastic part around it is reinstalled, because it was loose everywhere.

 

Have you had those timing belt covers off and checked the timing belt for condition and that the hydraulic tensioner is correctly tensioning the belt?

The VTCs may also be the cause.
