Boost sound through centre vent?

Especially noticeable in first and second gear I am getting a clear turbo boost sound which is audible through the centre vent??

Has anyone else experienced this and what was thd cause?

Also what may be a coincidence or connected is that I have a Greddy boost controller installed below the stereo... so potentially I could have a vacuum hose behind the stereo area that is leaking as boost pressure builds?
