300zx twin turbo

Hi everyone . When I start my car in the morning cold there is like a whining noise for a few minutes while the car warms up . To me it sounds like a meat slicer or something . All belts are fine and nothing is loose . Does anyone have any idea what it could be ? I was thinking possibly the crankshaft pulley as there is a aftermarket one on the car . It's a z32 tt . Thanks

    Possibly the alternator bearing, my sounded similar to what you are describing, although made the noise constantly regardless of engine warmth

    If it is more of a screeching sound then it could be the alternator belt slipping on the aftermarket crankshaft pulley. Made of aluminium they

    have a habit of polishing up where the belt runs and causing slippage. Usually when the car is started from cold and the alternator is under load

    from the start.
