Some of you may recall i fancied a tt instead of my na, i raced a tt and it never got away(auto), most of you (not all) mocked and said no way basicaly, so i went and viewed a tt auto to satisfy my curiosity, h reg beautifull nick, but auto, i drove it put foot down and was unimpressed, thinking mine felt equally as quick, but not quite believing it. However!! just gone thru the pack i got with my z, (got 3 official nissan orig brochures) imagine my surprise to read 0-62 figs manual 5.9 auto 7.5 na manual 2+2 figs 6.8, nissans figures so dont get cross

Problem is Gavo the cars you are testing are ten year old supercars, if they were brand spankers fair enough!

Gavo

Was that you we were talkin to at McDonalds car park a few weeks ago on the Felling bypass. We were in a black and a red Z.

hmm, all I can say is there must have been something wrong with the twin tub, maybe it was running in safety boost, that really does make em slow down a lot.

Why do we hear so many different times from different "official" sources? No way does an auto take 7.5s  . Never been in a manual but 5.9 has got to be wrong too.

Pete

In my experience i have driven both and the manual definitely was so much quicker. The manual felt like 5.5 secs and the auto felt like 6.5 secs. The auto you can just about wheel spin in first and the manual you can even spin it in 4th at 100mph. So much difference maybe the auto i had driven was in saftey boost mode but there was alot of difference.

Manual wins in my eyes. You could also kill yourself in the manuals though.

paulg, yes that was me in mcdonalds that fri night, which were you in the red or black or black auto???, is the safety boost thing really that common, it only seems to be the auto boys that suffer it tee hee, when you are getting beat in a race??? very convenient i say, i must say i do agree with topless mind, they are ten yr old supercars after all, well the manuals at least ha ha :D ;)

The red one is mine!!!

The black manual one is owned by a local lad who is not on the forum. The black auto is owned by a forum member called Elmo but he is always too busy counting his cash by candlelight to post.

i thought !!! he looked the type mind, you could tell you all were from money, do you spend most fridays at mcdonalds, or is it only if you all get your money counted from the previous night that you go, i also noticed none of you spending money at mac ds hmmmmmmmmmm

Grandad what spec is your Z spin the wheels at 100mph in 4th? I guess you were on a frozen lake? :p

  • Author

"a frozen lake" roflmao, i couldnt believe what i was reading either but only owning a zed with a datsun cherry engine i thought id stay quiet, that was v v funny

Just thought i would take a break from counting the pennies to answer your post...........Stick with your manual N/A as it looked a very clean motor.......Better the Devil you know :D

As for Paul G ....he doesn't need to count his money...... AS HE IS THAT TIGHT HE NEVER SPENDS ANYTHING.............He even cries when he has to spend a penny !!!!!!

  • Author

Kind words elmo, thanks, sorry to interupt your counting but did you get your gearbox sorted???

Gavo .........no the auto is still acting up.....but it is still drivable. Lucky it is only the overdrive not working correctly......

Hi all,

I'm new but feel the need to to mention that the manual TT is listed at 5.6 0-60mph and the auto TT is listed at 5.9 0-60mph. the N/A's are then up nearer to 7seconds. My auto with about 380bhp will do 0-60 in under 6 seconds in the wet with loads of wheel spin. The advantage of the auto is that it always changes gear's reliabley and isn't prone to the driver missing a gear/change.

Cheers

3 words - "Line Pressure Solenoids" ;):D:D:D:D

http://www.z32.org/html/z32perf.shtml has loads of performance stats if the anorak in you takes over. I printed them all out and found them interesting reading when on the throne contemplating the meaning of life as you do.

However so many other variables etc etc but interesting still.
