Anybody on here into CB / HAM radio.

Used to be on the CB years ago and recently decided to get it going again.

So i bought myself a CRT9900 10M radio and a Sirio Performer Antenna for my car.

You dont need a license for the 11M band ie CB channels on FM but you do if you want to use the others HAM frequencies.

So far my furthest contact last week was to South Wales while i was in the car sitting outside Prestwick Airport.

Planning to sit my HAM exam shortly as i would like to setup another home base setup and reach out further.

    I'm not, but my stepfather is M0ABT. He has been doing it for years, got aerials all over the garden and radios connected to computers!
