so following on from my front under tray issue, I've bitten the bullet and bought the Ali kit from z1, so while I'm waiting for that to be delivered I thought I would crack on and remove the old front tray, anyhow on the rear mountings in the radiator support the middle one was already snapped off, passenger side was missing and drivers side snapped when I tried to tighten it slightly to try and dislodge any rust before trying to loosen it, so is my only option now to try and drill out the offending bolts?

Can’t help I’m afraid mate but can you do me a favour and take a picture of the type of screws and their location. I played all mine but forgot to take pictures of which ones went where and now I’m not 100% sure where they all go. ?‍♂️

Just noticed this post, I have just had the same problem (amongst loads of others) 1 I was fortunate that it sheared with a stump above the panel, that one after several applications of penetrating oil and a slot cut into the stump with a Dremel, I managed to screw it through the captive nut into the box section, the other 3 that sheared all required drilling out starting with a 1.5mm drill then going up in small increments finally to a 5mm at which point with a thin centre punch you can knock the remainder of the bolt towards the hole you have drilled revealing the original thread.

Took forever laying on my back drilling upwards, best with a titanium bit, a slow speed on your drill and WD40 little and often, I had the same problem with the 2 bolts holding the bottom edge of the front wings on but with those at least you can lay on your side

You have my sympathy and wishes of good luck with it

Best regards

Marc

cheers fella, looks like a job for this week. I've just had the full Ali belly pan set delivered from z1 (very surprised there was no vat or import duty charge), anyhow the 'rustproof' fasteners they claim to supply are just painted steel bolts. is have now ordered a set of stainless steel bolts. anyhow on mine the centre one has broken off with half a stump, it's not enough to get onto, but I'm probably going to try a bolt extractor first and see if it shifts, if not I'll be drilling them out. luckily I have all bases covered, I have fir tree fixings, helicoil kit and m6 riv-nuts to hand so one way or another I'll get it to work.

That can depend on the carrier used. From past experience some will hold the goods in the UK and send you an invoice letter, whilst others

send the invoice letter independently of delivering the goods. What paper work came with the goods?

No paperwork on the boxes, was delivered by fedex who usually in the past has held the goods until charges were paid. But this time, z1 despatched last Monday, they were on my doorstep last Thursday. I’ll wait and see if I get a letter for duty
