Hi All,

Due to a bottom Crankshaft oil seal leaking my alternator belt, it came off 4 years ago and manage to get into the timing belt housing and buggered the engine up.

Well it's a good time to pull it to bits and fix it now.

Got an engine and gearbox but need clutch plate and bolts for flywheel odd bits to make it all work.

Clutch pedal to fit.

Who's best to see for parts and what's this project like to do?

Also pulling it to bits, the wiring looms a bit brickle, starting to think is this wise project!

Have a word with Jim@PowerZed for advice. For s/h parts you could try https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/banzaibreakers

A number of members have used Banzai with success.

Engine looms (wires and plugs) tend to degrade over time from the exposure to heat, and tend to fail when trying

to move them around when undertaking big jobs like engine removals.

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

You need a new engine harness and you will need to order it from the US unless someone can come up with the OEM part number then I can check stock in Japan.

If you don’t go with a new harness you will end up chasing faults for years the cars are coming to that age that I would say it is necessary to get a new one.

As far as I can tell RHD engine harnesses are NLA (from Japan or elsewhere). I've been looking for one. That leaves

LHD OEM and aftermarket (Z1, Wiring Specialties) from the US. LHD engine harnesses will fit RHD cars with a bit

of extra harness length tucked up in the engine bay or the passenger cell by the ECU.

Don’t you mean the other way around Andrew?

I’m seeing UK RHD harness part no. 24011-40P70 available new from Japan around £600 delivered then add tax if you get stung.

Yes! I did, thanks for pointing it out. I was looking for a 24011-53P60 ('94 later injector) type.

Roughly same price in stock Japan.

I check Amayama for all my parts and get the majority of OEM bits off of there as the cost works out better and also no SWB parts in the UK. You also find parts in stock in UAE which are around 30% cheaper than Japan.

Thanks, from your experience when they list a part are they actually able to supply? My normal supplier is

showing NLA. I'll make an equiry with Amayama and see.

I’ve had a few parts off there obviously showing delays at current however if they are showing it as available and the part number is good then it should be good.

I have to get my shorty bits all overseas do this turns up trumps. I had one of the door seals come from UAE for £64 when Japan was showing it as £116 I think it was. More people should be using it to be fair as the prices frequently beat UK prices and even some of the used parts I see on eBay are more expensive used than new [emoji1] I normally pull the part number from CZP as they are good for that then do a search on Amayama.

Thank you all, for your replies, noted, but a long way to go as engine to fit is need of rebuild! This project is hitting a brick wall all ready! Having to do up engine with a front oil seal problem, Crank is away to get machined up, then the head and valves to be fixed! ££££££££££££
