Which would you guys recommend?

I’m about ready to start rebuilding the off side area around the intercooler and along the front box section where the oil coolers sit (I can’t think what this areas correct name is). The tin work around these areas are in great condition but I’d like to make sure it stays that way.

As there is no top coat here (it looks like it’s just painted in primer grey) I was toying with painting the area black. Would this be over kill? There is a strong possibility that I’m going to spray the bay black one day and will certainly get it professionally painted when the day comes that there is an engine out job to do.

What would you guys do?

They're very different products, I'd use both..... although I wouldn't actually use Waxoil as there are better products out there like Dinitrol. Inject all the box sections, inner flitches, seams etc with Dinitrol. Paint any exposed under chassis panels with Hammerite.

I would buy an epoxy kit from Rust Buster. It can be brushed or sprayed on and is as tough as old boots and looks like paint once applied. They do a range of colours also iirc.

It comes as a kit Chris to treat any areas and seal them off. When my windscreen cracked i found surface rust in the aperture from a previous bad install. I used the Rustbuster Kit and i was very impressed with the finish and durability.
