Old banger?

Right, having just totalled £134   in petrol receipts since last wednesday, and got off the floor and calmed down I think it would be cheaper to run a £300 Escort or something on third party insurance only, to run as a daily driver instead of the Zed.

Obviously I've been cruising around more than the average week at work but still :(

Do all ins companys do this ie not fire or theft but TP only?

Got the Mondeo but want something a lot cheaper to run and insure.

Cheers for any advice

Pete

I have a 200SX and a 300ZX. The 300ZX is insured for about £440 based on it being an unmodified garaged 2nd car with restricted miles (5k per year) with Norton (Heritage policy). The 200SX is insured with a separate insurer (More Than) for ~£350.

So I'm paying less insurance for both cars than some pay for just a 300. But I am 33 with >5yrs NCB - that helps a lot.

ive gto an m reg 1.2 clio as a runaround, paid 900 quid for it, cheap insurance if you can find a company that will copy your existing no claims. some companies will not give you the no claims you have on your other car on your second car, tossers, but some do.

cheap tax, good on fuel
