My flatmate bought an r32, 1991, NA 2 door coupe Skyline last december, its a 5 speed manual, now he reckons his skyline could kick my 1991, NA, 2+2, Auto ZX's ass...please tell, surely this is not true!!!! if so, I think his driving must suck cause we have put it to the test and the skyline lost!

Ha ha, good effort, only time a ZX will beat a Skylark!

Let's get one thing straight here, Skylines come in all different guises, 2 dr, 4 dr etc.

Only Skyline worthy of the badge and name is the GT-R, anything else is a fake!

And we all know who would win that race eh?

Your car is at least worthy of its' badge! As they didn't make rep. versions of the 300...LOL!

i would be really keen to take on a bog standerd skyline?

There is a version of the Skyline thats actually a bit naff - I saw one in Middlehurts for ages, they couldnt shift it for love nor money. Its a 2.0l NA and I remember asking the showroom guy how fast it was and he said my 1991 200sx would kill it. So if thats the model your mate has, then you should win all the time - tell him to get a turbo to beat you!

I hear the the Skyline standard is not very special. It is the fact that I it VERY easy to upgrade it. Changing the air filter, exhaust and other simple things like that will make a hell of a difference

Look here you young wipper snapper...LOL!

The main reason for that is the BHP restriction on all sports cars coming out of Jap. land. 280 bhp is the max. This was imposed by the Jap. government on the manufacturers. Japanese people with their cars are nutters for power, well you would be if the thing can only legally hit 112 mph.

So the result is they like to get there rapidly, which is why Jun and Blitz take Skylarks and Supras and give them rediculous BHP like the lemon Skylark with 1000 large bhp.

How Nissan got away with 300 bhp for the 300ZX is cheekey, the official press release figure was 280 bhp. Also how Toyota got away with 320 for the Supra is beyond me, some backhanders going on somewhere.

Also take into account that the Skylark is only 2.6 litre as opposed to 3 litre for the 300 and Supra. So it is a nastey bit of kit, no contest and different league all together!!!

IMHO! Take it or leave it!

LOL!

oh crap man a bog standard 300zxtt against a skyline standard and im willing to bet there would not be a great difference. and then consider the price difference.

in fact, i'm pretty sure the standard 300 would take a standard skyline gtr, except on twisties...

i chased one up the M11 a while ago, and if we were on a track, he would have been blue flagged wink.gif

UK 92 TT White

Mongoose K&N AVCR

KYB Eibach

Skylark would woop 300ZX as standard, don't kid yourselves!

MR2 Turbo would cain a 300ZX full stop, got proof!!! LMAO!

Anyway, you lot are talking straight line driving, my Merc would keep up with a Skyline, but get us both on a twister...see you Mr. Merc!!!
